The EX6 Industrial is Filabot's answer for industrial R&D and production teams whose work routinely includes abrasive or highly filled compounds. Its nitrided barrel and screw resist the wear caused by glass, carbon, ceramic and mineral fillers, while the same 24:1 L/D screw architecture, four-zone PID temperature control and precise screw-speed control as the EX6 Standard give you control over mixing, residence time, output and consistency from first trials through ongoing production.
Choose the Industrial when all the benefits of the EX6 must be paired with increased wear resistance: abrasive composites, highly filled compounds, glass/carbon/mineral additives, or extended production runs in demanding environments. If your materials are not abrasive or highly filled, the EX6 Standard delivers the same process control and output. See the Filabot Selection Guide below for a side-by-side comparison.
Fast payback. A school, makerspace or print farm that recycles roughly 2,000 kg of material a year can pay back a complete Filabot system in under six months versus buying new filament—while teaching hands-on polymer science along the way.
Every Filabot machine is a building block. The equipment is modular, so you can start with the workflow you need today and expand later—adding cooling, measurement, spooling, pelletizing or shredding—without replacing what you already own. All units are bench-top sized and run on standard 110 V single-phase power (no 3-phase required), so a complete line fits comfortably next to your 3D printers.

The EX6 Industrial covers the Extrude stage. Complete the line:
| Product | Stage | Role in the line |
|---|---|---|
| Reclaimer | Reclaim | Two-stage shredder + granulator turns failed prints and scrap into extrudable granulate. |
| EX3 Filament Extruder | Extrude | Accessible, compact extruder for education, makerspaces, recycling and early-stage material development. |
| EX6 Standard Filament Extruder | Extrude | Professional 24:1 extruder with four PID heat zones and 4+ kg/hr output for R&D and production. |
| EX6 Industrial Filament Extruder (this product) | Extrude | EX6 with nitrided barrel and screw for abrasive, filled and reinforced compounds. |
| Airpath Filament Cooler | Cool | Forced-convection cooling that stabilizes filament diameter before it reaches the Spooler. |
| Filameasure | Measure | Inline diameter gauge with Filalogger data logging; mounts to the Spooler. |
| Spooler | Spool | Pulls, traverses and winds finished filament onto 0.5 kg / 1 kg spools. |
| Pelletizer | Pelletize | Chops filament into uniform pellets for re-extrusion, compounding or injection molding. |
Filabot bundles are priced below the sum of their parts:
PLA, PC, PETG, PET/PETE, PP, PE (HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE), PEI (ULTEM), PEEK, Nylon (PA), UHMW, TPE, wax, ABS*, HIPS*, PS*; virgin pellets, recycled regrind, powders and mild and abrasive additives (glass, carbon, minerals). *Ensure proper ventilation and filtration—can emit harmful fumes. Final compatibility depends on screw, nozzle, processing conditions and formulation.

Filabot is a Vermont-based engineering and R&D company that has built filament-making and small-scale polymer-processing systems since 2011. Thousands of systems are in use worldwide, and Filabot equipment has been referenced in more than 1,300 published research articles. Filabot provides direct technical support, installation and material-processing guidance, a processing-settings database, and curriculum resources for educators.
NOTE: 3D Universe is authorized to sell this product in the USA only. Filabot equipment ships from the manufacturer; the Reclaimer and Full Recycling Bundles ship via freight.
Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound. 3D Universe offers a wide range of high-quality filaments to choose from.
