Filament diameter is set by the relationship between extruder output and pull speed. The Spooler's adjustable puller wheels let you dial in line speed to control draw-down and preserve extrusion quality, while an adjustable traverse mechanism distributes filament evenly across the spool so it feeds flawlessly in your 3D printer later. An adjustable tension clutch maintains back-tension across different polymers. It ships with support for standard 0.5 kg and 1 kg spools—the format that fits UltiMaker and most desktop printers—plus a downloadable STL so you can print a custom holder for other spool styles.

Every Filabot machine is a building block. The equipment is modular, so you can start with the workflow you need today and expand later—adding cooling, measurement, spooling, pelletizing or shredding—without replacing what you already own. All units are bench-top sized and run on standard 110 V single-phase power (no 3-phase required), so a complete line fits comfortably next to your 3D printers.
The Spooler covers the Spool stage and is included in every Filabot bundle. How it combines with the rest of the line:
- Pulls filament from the EX3 Filament Extruder, EX6 Standard Filament Extruder or EX6 Industrial Filament Extruder through the Airpath Filament Cooler at a controlled speed.
- Mount the Filameasure directly on the Spooler to read and log diameter the moment filament is produced, then adjust puller speed on the fly.
- Snap the Pelletizer hose connector and mount onto the Spooler to chop filament into pellets straight from extrusion instead of winding it.
