Scrap to spool, in-house
The EX6 Standard Full Recycling Bundle is a professional-scale setup for reprocessing failed prints, purge, supports and compatible plastic waste—or virgin and recycled polymer feedstock—into 3D printing filament. It is designed as one integrated workflow rather than a collection of separate machines: the Reclaimer reduces parts to granulate, the EX6 Standard Filament Extruder melts and extrudes it, the Airpath Filament Cooler and Spooler cool and wind the strand, and the Pelletizer converts first-pass filament into uniform pellets for a clean final extrusion. Universities, research labs, manufacturers, material developers and advanced additive-manufacturing programs use it to reduce waste, test custom formulations, evaluate recycled materials and additives, and reduce dependence on commercially available filament.

- Reclaimer — two-stage shredder and granulator with hardened blades, jam-sense auto-reverse and safety interlocks

- Airpath Filament Cooler — six-fan forced-convection cooler with variable speed and digital readout
- Spooler — precision puller/winder with adjustable traverse and tension clutch for 0.5 kg and 1 kg spools
- Pelletizer — inline/standalone filament chopper with Spooler mount, adjustable pellet length
Recommended add-on: the Filameasure mounts to the Spooler to read and log diameter live—ideal for documenting how recycled batches hold tolerance.
The recycling workflow
- Reclaim — shred failed prints and scrap into granulate (keep polymer types separate; colors can be mixed).
- Prepare — dry the granulate.
- Extrude — first pass through the extruder, Airpath and Spooler.
- Pelletize — chop the first-pass strand into uniform pellets.
- Extrude again — re-extrude the pellets into consistent, print-ready filament and spool it.
- Print — load the spool into your 3D printer. Filabot research shows PLA can be recycled many times; blending in 20–50% virgin pellets extends it further.
