New Dimensions of Making with the Snapmaker 2.0 | 3D Universe Untethered Episode 22

Digital fabrication tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines are very empowering, opening up new project possibilities that would have previously had to be outsourced. In this episode, we’ll be speaking with 3D Universe founder and CEO, Jeremy Simon, about the Snapmaker 2.0, a 3-in-1 machine that brings all of these exciting capabilities together into one modular platform. This second-generation multi-function machine has quite a few surprises to offer, which we’ll be exploring in detail during this episode!

3D Universe founder, Jeremy Simon, has been working with the Snapmaker 2.0 for several months now. After completing testing of the 3D printing and laser cutting/engraving functions, he went on to spend most of his time focusing on the CNC module.

Here are a few of the projects Jeremy completed using the Snapmaker 2.0 CNC module:

This horse portrait design came from an artist on Etsy. The artist’s page is no longer available, so we are unable to share a link for this one. On the left, you can see the piece exactly as it came off of the Snapmaker machine, before any post-processing. On the right, you can see the result after a little detail sanding and a few coats of Tung oil.

It’s hard to believe that this started as a plain old block of wood!
