Bambu Lab H3C — 9-Material Tool Changer 3D Printer The Bambu Lab H3C redefines multi-material 3D printing. Built around the all-new SwapTek™ 9-Tool Switching system, the H3C keeps nine independent, pre-heated PrintTools docked and ready — enabling true multi-material prints with minimal purge and material swaps in as little as 6 seconds .

Bambu Lab H3C tool changer 3D printer with AMS 3H

The Bambu Lab H3C is a nine-tool, fully enclosed tool changer. Every material sits in its own pre-heated PrintTool, so a print can switch between nine filaments, or between a fine nozzle and a fast one, in about six seconds. There's no purge tower to speak of and no waiting for a single hotend to heat up and cool down. The AMS 3H filament system, dryer and all nine spools live inside the machine, so it takes the same desk space as a single-nozzle printer.

SwapTek™: nine tools, six-second switches

The H3C's nine docked PrintTools

Each of the nine PrintTools has its own filament path and heating system. Every material stays loaded, pre-heated and ready, so changing material takes six seconds instead of minutes, with far less waste than a single-nozzle multi-color printer.

FlexFeed: soft TPU at up to 3× the flow

FlexFeed with 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm filament and a TPU 75A shoe sole

The H3C runs both 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm filament (2.85 mm through the bypass feed) and switches between them on the fly. Thicker 2.85 mm TPU stays stiff under pressure, so TPU as soft as 75A prints reliably at up to three times the flow rate of a standard 1.75 mm setup. That makes it practical for soles, grips, gaskets and wearables.

Mixed nozzles: detail and speed in the same print

A watch printed with a 0.2 mm nozzle for the dial and 0.4 mm for the case and TPU band

On a single-nozzle printer you choose between a 0.2 mm nozzle for detail or a 0.4 mm nozzle for speed. With nine tools you don't have to: use a larger nozzle for the bulk of the part and a fine one only where detail matters. The H3C supports 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 mm hardened-steel nozzles.

AMS 3H: filament handling built for a tool changer

AMS 3H automatically loading filament into nine slots

Push it in. That's it. Insert filament into any of the nine slots, and the AMS 3H detects it, routes it and loads it into the PrintTool on its own. RFID reads Bambu Lab spools automatically.

The AMS 3H built-in filament dryer

Dries while you print. A two-slot dryer in the filament bay heats to 85 °C, hot enough for PA, PC and carbon-fiber-filled engineering materials. The sealed bay actively removes moisture and shows temperature and humidity on the printer, in Bambu Studio and in Bambu Handy.

H3C footprint compared with tool changers that hang spools off the side

Nine materials, one footprint. Most multi-material setups end up with spools hanging off the sides and a dryer on the bench. The H3C keeps everything inside, in the footprint of a single-nozzle machine.

Flagship performance, easy to run

The H3C's lighter toolhead and X-axis

Lighter head, faster prints. A 40% lighter toolhead and X-axis assembly reach 25,000 mm/s² acceleration and 1,400 mm/s travel without ringing. Bambu Lab says prints finish over 10% faster.

Automatic calibration of all nine PrintTools

Nine tools, aligned every time. Before every print, the H3C calibrates docking, tool offsets and bed leveling for all nine PrintTools, so there's nothing to tune by hand.

HMS and MiniWiki troubleshooting on the printer screen

The fix, on screen. The Health Management System names the cause of a problem in plain language instead of an error code, and MiniWiki walks you through the fix step by step on the printer's touchscreen.

Good to know before you buy

  • Power: the US (110–120 V) model draws up to 1,850 W for 3–5 minutes while the bed heats, and about 240 W printing PLA or 540 W printing PC after that. Plan for a dedicated 20 A circuit, or turn on Low Power Mode (1,050 W max), which heats the bed and chamber more slowly.
  • Space: the printer with AMS 3H measures 493 × 571 × 587 mm. Bambu Lab recommends 593 × 1,056 × 1,306 mm of clearance, and it ships in a 600 × 630 × 700 mm box at 36.28 kg (80 lb).
  • Network: Wi-Fi 6 only. There is no Ethernet port, network kill switch or 802.1X support, so check with your IT team if you're buying for a school or company network.
  • Room: operating temperature 10–30 °C.

Get the Quality Filament You Need

Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound. 3D Universe offers a wide range of high-quality filaments to choose from.
