Low density polyethylene (LDPE) is a light-weight, flexible and strong material, making it ideal for all kinds of fine forming applications.
These sheets are great for vacuum forming over concrete or plaster items, or for making resin casting molds. They can reproduce the fine details of the object, similar to what you would get with silicone. LDPE is also the only material that does not stick to resin (epoxy) objects.
In comparison to silicone molds, LDPE shells have significantly greater durability. While silicone molds typically endure only about 20 uses, LDPE molds can be reused hundreds of times or even serve as permanent molds. So LDPE is a great alternative to silicone molds.
Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound. 3D Universe offers a wide range of high-quality filaments to choose from.
