Modifi3D PRO2 is our upgraded 3D print finishing tool—stronger, more rigid, and more powerful, with added features based on user feedback.
Designed to replace sanding, scraping, and snapping, it includes 12 durable, interchangeable tips for a wider range of finishing tasks.
Despite its compact, lightweight design, the PRO2 offers improved control and precision with a stainless steel body, comfortable silicone grip, and a solid one-piece heater that’s easy to replace—no tools required.
As with previous Modifi3D models, the PRO2 is very easy to use and eliminates the frustration of finishing and modifying 3D prints. Simply plug in and it can be ready to use in less than 10 seconds.
The PRO2 has a function menu with options for temperature unit selection, a new temperature calibration function, and adjustable standby modes when the PRO2 is not in use. A basic stand is included, but we will provide a downloadable file so you can also print your own tool case.
Below are basic instructions (note that these are subject to change). Full detailed instructions will be provided in the Modifi3D PRO2 box.
1) Select a tip and thread it into the single-piece heater unit
2 ) Place Modifi3D PRO2 on the included stand and plug in.
3 ) When the PRO2 is plugged in, it will display - - - whilst it detects the power supply voltage. It will then show the voltage detected and automatically match the maximum power of the adapter with the output power of the PRO2. It will then immediately heat up to the last selected temperature.(Note: When using power adapters without PD/QC protocol, the output is limited to 5V, which will lower the heating speed and the maximum temperature to around 200°C).
1) To set the temperature, press the + or - buttons until the desired temperature is selected.
2) After a few seconds, the temperature will start to change, and the actual temperature will be shown on the digital display.
3) Temperature is adjusted in 1°C/°F increments. To adjust in 10°C/°F increments, click and hold the + or - buttons.
4) A short press of the function button will switch between °C and °F.
Long-press the function button for 3 seconds to enter or exit the function menu, then press + or - to navigate through the menu options.
The first mode shown on the menu will be the “sleep time” displayed with a flashing SLP on the screen. Press the function button to select this mode. Then press + or - to choose the sleep time and press the function button again to confirm.
To enter the “voltage setting,” navigate the menu to the flashing -U- option. Press the function button to select this mode. Then press + or - to choose the input voltage and press the function button again to confirm.
To enter the “temperature unit setting," navigate the menu to the flashing C-F option. Press the function button to select this mode. Then press + or - to choose between ℃ and ℉ and press the function button again to confirm.
To enter the “temperature calibration setting," navigate the menu to the flashing AdJ option. Press the function button to select this mode. Then press + or - adjust. Press the function button again to confirm. Note: This is a calibration mode only. If the tool is working correctly please do not adjust this setting).
To enter the “sleep temperature setting,” navigate the menu to the flashing PO option. Press the function button to select this mode. Then press + or - to adjust the sleep temperature between 160℃-320℃. Press the function button again to confirm.
1) Unplug from USB-C power and allow it to fully cool.
2) Loosen the locking nut and pull out the single-piece heater unit.
3) Align with the slot in the tool and insert the new heater.
4) Tighten the locking nut
The temperature shown on the LED display is the temperature of the heater element. Due to different tip sizes and shapes heat transfer to the tip edge may vary slightly and hence actual tip temperature may also vary from that shown on the display.
Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use.
