Form 4L is a blazing fast, large-format masked SLA (MSLA) resin 3D printer that combines an industry-leading materials library with a reliable, accurate print engine. Built on the same Low Force Display™ (LFD) technology as Form 4, it offers 4.6× the build volume — 24.2 liters — and completes large prints in under 6 hours. Solve big problems with large-scale parts, or print multiple parts in one job to accelerate product development or keep production running. Turn your biggest ideas into reality faster than ever with easy workflows, leading reliability, and stunning part quality.

The Formlabs Form 4L Complete Package includes the following items:
With a 24.2 liter build volume and 692 cm² (107 in²) build area, Form 4L prints parts that simply don't fit on a desktop printer — laptop chassis, steering wheel ergonomic models, blow molds, compression molds, and full-size seat prototypes. And because LFD technology cures an entire layer at once, you can fill the platform with multiple parts in a single job without a meaningful increase in print time.

Form 4L's Backlight Unit generates a uniform area projection of ultra-high-power light using 145 LEDs and collimating lenses, curing resin quickly and precisely anywhere on the build platform. Combined with the Light Processing Unit 4L, a low-force release texture, a flexible-film resin tank, and automatic resin handling, it delivers blazing fast print speeds with excellent print quality and accuracy. In Formlabs' benchmark tests, Form 4L finished large parts several times faster than Form 3L and leading FDM printers:
Form 4L delivers the sharpest details, smoothest surfaces, and most accurate assemblies of any Formlabs large-format printer — from laptop chassis and ESD-safe PCB trays to outsole compression molds and impeller casting patterns.
Form 4L supports 19 Formlabs resins — tough, rigid, flame retardant, general purpose, silicone, elastic, and ceramic — with more new materials in development. Open Material Mode (included in the Form 4L Premium Package, or sold separately) unlocks third-party 405 nm photopolymer resins for even more flexibility. Formlabs optimization engineers put hundreds of printed parts to the test to ensure each material performs to the most reliable standards, right out of the box.

Form 4L is engineered for dependable large-format printing. Six upgraded sensors precisely control resin temperature, resin level, print forces, and print status, and every printer is factory calibrated so you get consistent results from the first print. As Hasbro's rapid prototyping engineer put it: “I really appreciate the reliability paired with the speed. It's not one or the other, like many other tools.”

Form 4L uses the same free PreForm print preparation software and cloud-based Dashboard as the rest of the Form 4 Series, so the workflow is simple enough for a new user to learn in four steps.

Form 4L works seamlessly with Form Wash L V2 and Form Cure L V2 to automate post-processing for large-format prints. Form Wash L automates cleaning to remove uncured resin from big parts and full platforms, and Form Cure L delivers reliable, professional post-curing so parts reach their final mechanical properties with minimal hands-on labor.

Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound. 3D Universe offers a wide range of high-quality filaments to choose from.
