Expand your creative boundaries with the dual-extrusion UltiMaker S5 3D printer.UltiMaker's most advanced 3D printer to-date, the UltiMaker S5 is tailored for professionals as it combines precision with performance. Most noticeable is its larger build volume which, at 330 x 240 x 300 mm (13 x 9.5 x 11.8 inches) greatly increases the range of the S5's potential applications. Moreover, the S5 3D printer comes equipped with a number of technological refinements over previous models:
If you are new to the UltiMaker S5, we strongly recommend you watch our overview video, which is just under 7 minutes.
Unlike its predecessors, the UltiMaker S5 print bed, with rare exceptions, does not require manual levelling. The S5 3D printer offers a seamless experience from unboxing to printing. With its advanced active bed leveling system, you're guaranteed flawless first-layer adhesion every time.
Experience consistent and optimized printing conditions with the S5's integrated glass doors. They effectively reduce airflow disturbances, maintaining temperature stability throughout the build chamber.
Additionally, free yourself from the constraints of constantly monitoring lengthy print tasks. The S5's innovative filament sensor vigilantly tracks filament usage. Should it run out, the printer will automatically pause, ensuring uninterrupted quality and peace of mind.
The UltiMaker S5 comes standard with UltiMaker's proven interchangeable print core design. Swap print cores in seconds and choose from a range of nozzle sizes (0.8 mm, 0.4 mm and 0.25 mm) to best suit your project's needs.
Transform how you manage print tasks with the UltiMaker S5's state-of-the-art touchscreen. This advanced interface not only simplifies job management and machine upkeep but also offers a vivid preview of upcoming prints. Crafted for an unparalleled user experience, the UltiMaker S5 ensures both newcomers and seasoned 3D printing enthusiasts can execute their projects with unmatched speed and precision.

Simplify your setup with UltiMaker's cohesive material ecosystem. Once you load UltiMaker NFC-enabled filament into the S5, the printer recognizes it instantly. Paired with UltiMaker Cura's tailored material profiles, the S5 pre-sets your print tasks with the ideal configurations for your chosen filament.
With UltiMaker, you have a premium range of branded materials to choose from: Tough PLA, PLA, Nylon, ABS, CPE, CPE+, Polycarbonate, TPU 95A, Polypropylene, PVA, and Breakaway. The S5 doesn't just settle there; it upholds UltiMaker's commitment to versatility. Designed to accommodate any brand or type of 2.85mm material capable of extruding up to 280C, the UltiMaker S5 ensures you command every print with precision and confidence. Your creative vision, uncompromised.
Yes, the UltiMaker S5 can print metal when upgraded with the Metal Expansion Kit, which lets the machine produce stainless steel parts through a seamless workflow, broadening the scope of 3D printing applications with the UltiMaker S5.
The UltiMaker S5 uses swappable print cores, which are very easy to change. These print cores are available in different configurations as follows:
The maximum extruder temperature for the UltiMaker S5 is 280°C, though it's recommended not to exceed 260°C with a more conservative limit of 250 to 255°C suggested for optimal operation. The printer operates best within a temperature range of 15°C to 32°C. Additionally, the bed of the UltiMaker S5 can reach a maximum temperature of 140°C, which is ideal for printing with high-temperature materials like ABS or Polycarbonate.
