Our nylon material is reinforced with chopped carbon fibers, providing the strength of nylon combined with the stiffness of carbon fiber. This helps to significantly reduce the warping tendency of traditional nylon, making it easier to print. This material has a fantastic matte finish with a bit of a sparkle, resulting from the carbon fiber.
Suggested Print Settings
Nozzle temperature: 250-265C
Heated bed temperature: 60-80C
Print bed adhesion: Magigoo PA (recommended), glue-stick, or a thin coating of PVA glue
Important Note: Nylon Carbon Fiber is an abrasive material, so it is highly recommended that you use a CC print core, as the material can cause the AA print cores to wear. If you have an Ultimaker S3 or Ultimaker S5, you should use an Ultimaker Print Core CC (0.4mm) or the Ultimaker Print Core CC (0.6mm). Abrasive materials are not recommended for the Ultimaker GO, 2, 2+ series, 2+ Connect, or 3 series.
High Standards of Quality
Having close to 30 years of experience manufacturing a very diverse array of plastics, our manufacturer has the process knowledge required to produce high-end filaments. Our nylon has a diameter tolerance of +/- 0.08 mm, which ensures a consistent flow rate. The filament is tightly wound to guard against tangling, and each spool is shipped in air-tight packaging to shield against the elements.
Made in the U.S.A. with Artist-friendly Prices
Because our filament is manufactured in the United States, our actual costs are significantly lower. The quality level is exceptionally close to that of European-imported filaments but far more cost-effective.
Works With 3D Printers That Accept 2.85 mm or 3.0 mm
3D Universe Nylon Carbon Fiber is designed for printers that work with standard 2.85 mm and up to 3.00 mm size filaments.
Choosing Between 2.85 mm and 3.0 mm
There is some confusion surrounding 2.85 mm vs 3.0 mm filament. The truth is, most filament labeled as 3.0 mm is actually closer to 2.85 mm in diameter - with very rare exceptions. 3D Universe filament is truly 2.85 mm in diameter, with a tolerance of +/- .08 mm. Therefore, it works exceptionally well in Ultimaker printers, as well as printers that require 3 mm filament. Simply configure your slicing software for a filament diameter of 2.85 mm, and you can expect optimal results.
Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound. 3D Universe offers a wide range of high-quality filaments to choose from. We provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all filament we sell. If you have any problems, just send back the unused portion of the spool for a full refund. Check out our filament collection...
