A number of our customers have missed one specific piece of packing material while unboxing the X1E printer. If this piece isn't removed, the initial calibration process will fail with various errors.
When the printer is shipped, there are several gray plastic pieces attached to the interior, some of which have screws that need to be removed. These pieces are marked with stickers that have orange arrows indicating the screws that need to be removed. Most of these packing components will be obvious, but there is one piece that is easy to miss. You will find a gray plastic packaging component near the upper-right-front corner of the printer. This piece needs to be removed before powering on the printer.
Folsom Tech did an unboxing video that shows this part being removed at 4:24, which you can see in this screenshot or in the video by clicking here.
Discover the advanced capabilities of the Bambu X1E 3D Printer's Automatic Material System (AMS). This pioneering feature enables the X1E to smoothly transition between diverse colors and materials in a single print project. Ideal for complex multi-color creations or varied material prototypes, the AMS maintains unwavering print quality, enhancing your 3D printing experience with ease and efficiency.
Key Features:
Stable Ethernet Connection, WPA2-Enterprise Authentication Wi-Fi Connection
The Bambu Lab X1E 3D Printer offers seamless connectivity with its Ethernet port, perfect for stable network communication in complex setups. It's especially useful in areas with crowded wireless signals. Additionally, the X1E supports WPA2-Enterprise Wi-Fi Authentication (EAP-PEAP/EAP-TLS/EAP-TTLS) and features physical kill switches for both Wi-Fi and Ethernet, ensuring top-notch network security.
Fully Functional With LAN Only Mode
Operate the Bambu X1E independently from the Bambu Cloud Service, fully functional within your local network. This feature allows remote control over LAN, bypassing the need for an internet connection. Contact your regional reseller for more customization options for the X1E.
Superior Particulate and VOC Filtration for Safer Printing
The Bambu Lab X1E 3D Printer’s advanced air filtration system, featuring a G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA filter, and coconut shell activated carbon filter, ensures a safer, healthier workspace by reducing harmful particulates and odors including volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This not only enhances air quality and operational safety but also improves print reliability by maintaining a cleaner environment, leading to more consistent, high-quality results.
Reduce Warping, Improve Layer Bonding
The X1E features active heating and precise chamber temperature control (up to 60°C or 140°F). This is crucial for improving print quality and reducing warping in materials like ABS and PC. By reducing temperature fluctuations, the Bambu Lab printer minimizes warping and shrinkage, ensuring better adhesion between layers. This controlled environment leads to stronger, more accurate prints, especially when working with temperature-sensitive materials, resulting in consistently superior print outcomes.
Advanced Heat Capacity for Complex Materials
The Bambu Lab X1E 3D Printer's nozzle can reach temperatures of up to 320°C (608°F), enabling the printing of high-performance materials like PPA-CF/GF, PPS, and PPS-CF. These materials offer enhanced dimensional stability, heat resistance, and mechanical performance, expanding the capabilities of 3D printing.
Super Fast And Rigid Structure For Continuous High-Speed Printing
Featuring carbon-fiber rods in its CoreXY motion structure, the X1E achieves toolhead acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s². This lightweight structure allows maintaining a travel speed of a blazing 500 mm/s, reducing print time without sacrificing quality.
Stable & Quality Prints Even At Higher Speeds
The X1E's sophisticated system compensates for XY-axis vibrations and extrusion irregularities, ensuring smooth print quality. This process is fully automated, eliminating the need for manual adjustments and enhancing user convenience.
Reduce Filament Wastage and Machine Downtime
It seems like AI is popping up everywhere these days, and it's made an entry into the world of 3D printing with the Bambu Lab X1E. This printer's AI algorithm detects first-layer imperfections and dreaded spaghetti failures using Lidar and computer vision. When it spots trouble, it immediately pauses the print and pushes an alert, averting potential disasters. This smart feature significantly reduces filament waste and machine downtime, ensuring your printing process is as smooth as the prints themselves!
Supports Auto Filament Reload and Enables Multi-Material Printing with Support Material for Improved Surface Quality
With the capability to connect up to four Bambu AMS systems, the X1E can connect to 16 spools of filament in parallel. This means you can easily switch between different materials and colors, perfect for creating prints with flawless surfaces using dedicated support materials or adding a splash of color. And let's not forget the Bambu Lab’s AMS’s most impressive trick – automatic filament reload. It uses up every inch of filament on one spool before switching to the next, ensuring no waste and uninterrupted printing.

*** The printer can print third-party filaments, however not all spools from third-party filaments are compatible with the Bambu Lab AMS unit. Limitations may be due to outer dimensions of the filament spool or spool material compatibility (specifically cardboard spools are not compatible).
Yes, the Bambu Lab X1E can operate fully within a local network using LAN-only mode. This allows you to control the printer remotely without needing an internet connection, ensuring uninterrupted printing even in offline environments. This feature is ideal for secure or isolated setups.
The Bambu Lab X1E 3D Printer is compatible with a wide range of filaments, including PLA, ABS, PETG, and high-performance materials like PPA-CF/GF and PPS. However, filaments that require extremely high temperatures beyond 320°C or those that might produce hazardous fumes without proper ventilation may not be suitable. Always check the filament's recommended printing specifications and ensure compatibility with the X1E's capabilities.
Yes, the Bambu Lab X1E allows for direct printing from a USB drive. This is particularly useful for users who prefer to transfer files manually without relying on network connections. Simply insert the USB drive, select the print file, and start printing directly from the printer's interface.
Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound. 3D Universe offers a wide range of high-quality filaments to choose from.
