PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) is a durable and strong thermoplastic which combines many desirable features from other plastics into one material. PETG offers similar mechanical properties to that of ABS while maintaining the ease of use of PLA. PETG has low thermal shrinkage in comparison to other materials, making it a great choice for objects in which high levels of dimensional accuracy is required.
Common Applications include:
- General purpose 3D printing
- Heavy use prints
- Engineering and industrial prototyping
- Extruder Temperature: 235-250C (lower temperatures will help reduce stringing)
- Printing Speed: 50-80 mm/s
- Bed Temperature: 80-100C
- Bed Adhesion: Hair Spray or Painters Tape
- Retraction: ~2mm for direct-drive extruders, or ~15mm for bowden-tube printers (i.e. Ultimaker printers)
- Enable "Coast" feature in your slicing software, if available
