Our Ultimaker Multi-Material Small Bundle (Single Extrusion) is a great way to explore the possibilities of 3D printing with Ultimaker's world-class filaments! Each bundle includes 13 spools of Ultimaker NFC-enabled material. All spools are 750g each, except for the Polypropylene, which is 500g. You'll receive 2 spools of PLA, 2 spools of Tough PLA, 2 spools of ABS, 2 spools of Nylon, 1 spool of CPE, 1 spool of CPE+, 1 spool of Polycarbonate, 1 spool of TPU-95A, and 1 spool of Polypropylene.
The materials in this bundle are suitable for any model of Ultimaker printer (or any other 3D printers that accept 2.85mm filament).
PLA (Polylactic Acid)
Created from plant products, such as corn, potatoes, sugar beets, etc., PLA is considered a more "earth-friendly" material than other petroleum-based plastics like ABS. PLA can be composted at commercial compost facilities. It won't bio-degrade in your backyard or home compost pile, however.
PLA is an excellent material for beginners, as it's easy to print with due to the fact that it has minimal warping tendencies. It can even be printed without a heated bed if needed. PLA is fairly strong but more brittle than ABS, and it has a semi-gloss finish. PLA's lower melting temperature makes it a poor choice for objects that require significant heat resistance. For example, PLA objects left in a hot car may become deformed.
Ultimaker Tough PLA is a technical PLA filament with toughness that’s comparable to ABS. Offering the same safe and easy use as regular PLA, Tough PLA is ideal for reliably printing technical models at larger sizes.
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)
ABS is a petroleum-based plastic. It is stronger, with slightly more flexibility compared to PLA. It also offers improved heat resistance, making it suitable for engineering purposes or items with mechanical properties.
ABS can be more challenging to print with, due to its tendency to warp, especially where the object makes contact with the build plate. Applying a coating of "ABS juice" (a mixture of ABS and acetone) on a glass build plate can help greatly to reduce warping.While printing, ABS produces a smell of hot plastic, so proper ventilation is important.

ABS dissolves in acetone, so you can use a few drops of acetone to weld ABS parts together. You can also use acetone vapor to post-process ABS parts, creating a smooth, glossy finish.
Ultimaker NFC Nylon possesses all the traits manufacturers have come to love about Nylon: exceptionally high durability, very high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and low friction coefficient. Additionally, Ultimaker Nylon has been formulated to absorb less humidity than other, competitive Nylon filaments. Best of all, it's optimized to perform well on Ultimaker 3D printers.
The Ultimaker CPE family of filaments are ideal for creating functional prototypes and mechanical parts. CPE, like ABS, produces durable prints, but with higher flexibility and without the same level of noxious fumes. Additionally, CPE possesses high chemical resistance.
CPE+ is an enhanced version of Ultimaker's CPE material that brings even higher temperature resistance (up to 100 C) and as much as 10 times higher impact resistance.
Ultimaker Polycarbonate (PC) is an exciting new filament that retains its dimensional stability when subjected to temperatures up to 110 Celsius. It possesses flame retardant traits, is formulated for clean finished surfaces, and a transparent option is available. Altogether, these characteristics make Ultimaker Polycarbonate an ideal choice for the production of 3D printed lampshades. It can also be used to create molds, and other short-run manufacturing pieces.
TPU 95A is semi-flexible, measuring 95A on the Shore durometer and is capable of withstanding up to 580% elongation at break. TPU 95A possesses high impact strength, is highly resistant to wear and tear, and is also resistant to many industrial oils and chemicals.
Ultimaker NFC Polypropylene is durable. It has high toughness, exceptional fatigue resistance, and low friction. It also has good chemical, temperature, and electrical resistance. PP is one of the most widely used plastics on the planet. From electrical components to living hinges, PP is the go-to material for prototyping and end-use products.
