BuMat offers high quality filament in a wide range of colors. The BuMat Standard line of filaments is the ideal choice for beginners stepping into the amazing world of 3D printing. Compared to the BuMat PLA filament, BuMat ABS plastic filament produces a deeper and richer color with a semi-matte finish. The durability and increased resistance to breakage of the BuMat ABS filament is perfect for making objects that require a higher degree of toughness.
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), is a polymer that is molded and engineered to be a great material for 3D printing. It is a favorite filament among 3D printer users because it is lightweight and durable. It can be injection molded which makes it perfect for 3D printing extruders. It has a high glass transition temperature to reduce deformation, but it is also low enough to be safely attainable with standard 3D printers. ABS is a hard strong plastic with some flexibility when compared to PLA. It is also soluble in Acetone, and it can be easily sanded and machined. It has good strength and machinability. In combination with the higher temperature resistance, it is often the preferred plastic among 3D printer users.
ABS Filament adheres well to kapton tape and is best used with a heated bed, as ABS plastic contracts when cooled and large parts will pull off of a non-heated bed.
Use ABS filament in a well-ventilated area.
Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound. 3D Universe provides a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all filament we sell. If you have any problems, just send back the unused portion of the spool for a full refund. Check out our filament collection...
