Introducing Dremel's New Laser Cutter
The new Dremel LC40 is capable of cutting, etching, scoring, and engraving your most intricate designs.
The potential applications are numerous, as the LC40 works with a wide array of materials, including acrylic, paper, leather, wood, stone, and glass.
See our materials page
for some options to get you started, designed to fit perfectly in the LC40's 20 x 12 inch work area.
IMPORTANT: The LC40 is not intended for cutting metal
The LC40 is capable of engraving anodized aluminum.
Otherwise, the LC40 is not capable of cutting or engraving metal, and Dremel strongly urges people to avoid attempting to do so,
as it would present a significant safety risk.
WARNING: Never use a laser cutter to cut vinyl or PVC!
Cutting vinyl or PVC on a laser cutter produces hydrogen chloride gas, which is extremely toxic. This in turn produces
hydrochloric acid, which will also cause significant damage to the laser cutter. For more details, see
this article.
