Want to make a 3D printed mechanical hand?

This kit is a great option for anyone with a 3D printer, looking to produce the Cyborg Beast hand developed by the e-NABLE community. The models are freely available to download and print, but you will need additional assembly materials to put it together. If you have a 3D printer (or access to one) and can 3D print the parts, this kit contains everything else you need.

Kit Contents

Each kit includes the following:

  • (4 feet) Velcro, double-sided (2 inches wide)
  • (8 feet) Non-flexible braided fishing line
  • (5 feet) Flexible elastic cord (1mm diameter, for smaller hands)
  • (5 feet) Flexible elastic cord (2mm diameter, for larger hands)
  • (1) Aluminum Chicago Screw - 2 1/2"
  • (1) Aluminum Chicago Screw - 2 3/4"
  • (1) Aluminum Chicago Screw - 3"
  • (1) Aluminum Chicago Screw - 3 1/4"
  • (1) Aluminum Chicago Screw - 3 1/2"
  • (1) Aluminum Chicago Screw - 3 3/4"
  • (4) Stainless Steel Chicago Screws - 1/4"
  • (3) Stainless Steel Chicago Screws - 3/8"
  • (6) Stainless Steel Chicago Screws - 1/2"
  • (6) Tensioner screws (extra small)
  • (6) Tensioner screws (small)
  • (6) Tensioner screws (medium)
  • (6) Tensioner screws (large)
  • (10) Lee Tippi Micro Gel Fingertip Grips
  • (12 inches x 6 inches) Firm Foam Padding (1/8" thick)
  • (1 roll) Teflon tape

Important Notes:

  1. Each of the Chicago Screws indicated above includes both the post and the screw portion.

  2. When you scale the 3D printed parts up or down, the holes for the Chicago Screws will shrink or expand also. As a result, you may need to use a power drill to expand those holes a bit in order for the Chicago Screws to fit through.

  3. The gauntlet (the part that fits over the forearm) included with the current version of the Cyborg Beast design does not include slots for the velcro. You may want to consider using Frankie Flood's Cyborg Beast Gauntlet instead.

  4. A discount is available on these kits for e-NABLE members who are actively involved in the charitable fabrication of these devices. Email info@3duniverse.org for more details.

3D Universe Terrafilum PETG: Now Available in Skin Tones

3D Universe is pleased to offer our PETG material in four unique skin tone colors! Shown above (from left to right): Light Tan, Desert Tan, Chocolate Rose, and Coffee Bean. Get the Quality Filament You Need

Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound. 3D Universe offers a wide range of high-quality filaments to choose from. We provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all filament we sell. If you have any problems, just send back the unused portion of the spool for a full refund. Check out our filament collection...
